This is a self-portrait of the Spanish Renaissance artist Pedro Berruguete (c. 1450-1504). It was painted sometime during his lifetime, and it is an oil on canvas painting.
I love to touch on subjects that are little known in art, and while Renaissance art is well-known (especially that from Italy), Spain itself is not all that famous for producing artists other than some titans like Picasso and Dali.
Berruguete is an artist I had never heard of, so I looked up Spanish Renaissance art and came up with this guy. For someone as obscure as Berruguete, he seems to be a fine painter judging by his self-portrait.
